With every twirl came the light sounds of the thunder, followed by pitter-patter drops.
With every drop, my twirl intensified. I was lost in a world of my own. The rhythm became louder and louder, the rhythm of the droplets from the sky, oh, such a sweet melody.
The strong earthy smell filled my nostrils as I closed my eyes to inhale the goodness, this petrichor is what happiness smells like.
Setting my gaze upon the sky, the beautiful cocktail-blue shade was beginning to darken into gravel-grey.
The tiny droplets gradually intensified, and so did my twirling, one step forward, one step back.
Hand in hand, we used to sway and spin. His hands, holding my waist, as we rocked back and forth.
Each drop of the rain set us ablaze. The look in your eyes was everything I needed to feel safe and at home.
Time stood still when we danced, nothing else mattered but you.
One step forward, followed by more twirls as the rain intensified and clattered on the rooftop.
The only moment that will remain locked in my heart is dancing in the rain with you.
Only this time, I'm dancing in the rain with an imaginary version of you. I'm dancing in the rain when life makes no sense.
I'm dancing in the rain all by myself without you whispering love poems to my ears.
You taught me to be happy amidst a storm, because there's always a beautiful rainbow after the storm. And, that's what I'm doing.
I'll keep dancing in the rain, till I get to dance in the rain one more time, with you by my side.
This poem is not directly what it seems. It just portrays a lady dancing in the rain while going through a lot.
This takes us back to our last week's post. What are you doing in your season of waiting, in your season of hopelessness, in your season when nothing seems to even make sense.
What are you doing while you wait for that big breakthrough you've been praying for?
Are you blaming God, are you giving up? Are you losing hope?
Trust me, I'm you and you are me. We all go through or have gone through that phase. But, what you do during the refining process before turning to gold is very important.
A quote says, "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.β
While you wait, learn to dance in the rain and in no time, your rainbow will be looking down at you.
Love you allβ€οΈ.. see you next week, don't forget to like and share!πβ€οΈ.
I have learned to enjoy life and every moment of life. No one knows tomorrow but I will always make myself and others around me happy while I have the chance today.
